Description
JOHNNY DODDS W/ RICHARD M. JONE'S JAZZ WIZARDS -- PARAMOUNT 14001 Hot and Ready // It's A Low Down Thing-- Condition: E+ // E+ An amazing find -- this record is a reissue of the 1928 New York Recording Laboratories Paramount 12705. Johnny Dodds and the bunch never sounded as good, since the quality of the original Paramount record was very poor in comparison to this reissue, probably from the late 1930s. According to Brian Rust's Jazz Record Discography, this was recorded in Chicago, October 1928; a small band with E. Herbert, W. Franklin, A. Starks and Richard Jones. How great to hear the original master, just as it sounded in 1928, on a very smooth and high quality surface. The last owner took very good care of this record, and looks and plays almost like it was new!
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. If you wish to hear a sample see below!
As with all records purchased from me, they are cleaned with the VPI professional Record Washing System, so the sides are free of grit and dirt and they are CLEAN!
This is part of a huge collection that I am trying to get posted on EBAY. Since there are now others posted from me, I will happy to combine orders to save shipping costs, since it costs very little more to ship six records as it does to ship one! However, any record agreed to be held, must be paid for with 48 hours, or they will be put up for second chance offers. It is impossible to tie us all of the income from "held" records, for, what could be weeks, without payment. Unless otherwise noted, records are shipped in plain manilla sleeves and shipped in heavy cardboard boxes with double pieces of cardboard top and bottom and the middle (if the the shipment is large enough) and packed with popcorn and/or bubble material.
Thanks for looking and hopefully, bidding!
