Description
RECORD RETAILING YEARBOOK 1945 The Music Dealers' Convention In Print
Very rare hard cover book that came out as America was exiting World War II to get the record retailing industry back on its feet following war related travel bans, the Petrillo ban, and other disruptive forces. 448 pages with raised embossed front and back covers. Published by the industry magazine Record Retailing. A convenient convention in print with record labels, phonograph & radio manufacturers and other companies buying pages that functioned as booths at an annual industry event. Loaded with state of the art marketing ideas illustrated with photos, historical articles and more. Photos give a vivid sense of what it was like to walk into a record store or record department at that time with floor layouts, window displays, etc. Unfortunately, no photos of the bargain basements where unsold pre-war race record stock was displayed. 9.5" x 6.5".
