Description
Here is a 78 RPM record album set produced in the early 1940s by WIBW radio - The Voice of Kansas. WIBW was a midwestern AM radio station started around 1927 and like all radio stations of the day, they had many daytime and evening country western music programs - jamborees, hay rides, barn dance session - and the Kansas Roundup. I believe these records are part of the Round Up program. This is a great piece of radio and music history.
This album set has 6 sleeves but only 5 records with the yellow WIBW label. The recordings are songs played by these artist during broadcast sessions - these folks were part of the program.
Included in the artist list:
- Emory Martin, the one armed banjo player
- Holden Brothers were Fairley Holden and Milton Jackson (not really brothers)
- Edmond Denny (sometime spelled Denney) was part of the Pleasant Valley Gang with Bill Kirk and Miss Elsa
- Miss Maudie was Mrs. LeRoy Carlson - Carlson was billed as Dude Hank
- Ole was Ole Livgren

Every record rates E+, super clean and shiny - played cleanly on my Dual 1218 turntable, slight background noise. The album also rates E+ - clean, solid spine, no splits or tears in the sleeves, clean graphics on the cover, no writing or markings.

My grading scale is not complicated. Mint (M, M-) means like new with only the slightest of scuffing. Excellent (E, E+, E-) means minor scuffs, scrapes, label wear, light scratches that do not affect the play. Good (G, G+, G-) means scuffing, scraping, scratches, acceptable playing with noticible noise. I try not to sell records that are warped or that skip unless noted. These are records I have picked up while expanding my own record collection.
I pack very carefully with cardboard reinforcement, bubble wrap and sturdy boxes. I combine shipping on multiple purchases where possible.
