Rare, one of a kind, 12" red Flexo circa 1930 with 4 tunes recorded by Jack Coakley's Flexo Recording Orchestra. Plays at 33 1/3 inside out. Unfortunately, like many Flexos, the material has warped, so toward the outer edge what you have is a spinning potato chip, and tracking is not possible for the last half of the outermost tunes. You get two complete performances and two half performances. But doubly unfortunate, the hottest of the 4 tunes, "Sweet Jennie Lee", is one of the outer bands. It becomes unplayable just as the trumpet player begins to blow the roof off. That being said, even the sweeter pop tunes have that insistent rhythmic drive that make the San Francisco sound of this period so unique and exciting.
ANNOUNCEMENT: If you have any higher end pre-war blues, country or jazz you might like to consign, please get in touch and I will let you know the affordable service I can provide.
