78 RPM - Duke Ellington and His Cotton Club Orchestra - Misty Mornin' / Saratoga Swing
Victor V-38058
This is a 78 RPM recording on the Victor label featuring, Duke Ellington and His Cotton Club Orchestra. These sides were recorded May 3, 1929.
On Side A is "Misty Mornin".
On Side B is "Saratoga Swing".
Visually, this record is in very good condition with some scuffs and light scratches. It has clean and still has some shine. There is a small chip (less that 1/8 inch) on the B side edge that is well outside the play area. The labels are in very good condition, however the lettering on side B is somewhat faded. This record would rate V+ / V in appearance.
Audibly the record is play graded V- / V . The surfaces show moderate wear and they do play with some surface noise. It does play completely through with out skips.
The indicated condition is adapted from the VJM grading system for vintage 78s (each side graded separately) N N- E+ E E- V+ V V- G+ G G- New

Obvious visible wear, some greying, and deeper scratches, diminished sound quality, but enjoyable play. Good
Actually not so good,
I will not sell any record that is graded G unless the reverse side is in better condition.
