Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:

USA - LUCKY ELEVEN - LE 8001 (MONO)
TOPPERMOST COPY!
Thee Original (1966) M0N0 first pressing collectible = "THE PACK" are pre-Grand Funk Railroad ...
The SECOND LP by Terry Knight And The Pack who, at the time, were Detroit's number one local happening teen scene band...
The popular sixties garage rock band from Michigan, led by vocalist Terry Knight, went on to be Grand Funk's famous manager ... and two of the Pack members (Mark Farner & Don Brewer) led the famous GFR trio.
A quintessential garage band, Terry Knight & The Pack openly imitated best-selling rockers of the mid-'60s, especially the Rolling Stones and other "in" groups alike. Due to the band's lack of refinement and Knight's compositional idiosyncrasies, much of their material transcends its inspiration to qualify as lost classics of the Nuggets era, but 40+ years later, that's a cool thing with collectors
Six of their nine 45s made regional Top 40s throughout Michigan, Ohio and New York, with two of them - "Mister, You're A Better Man Than I" (originally by The Yardbirds) and "I (Who Have Nothing)" - hitting the national charts. "I (Who Have Nothing)" went to #46 and earned the band an appearance on Dick Clark's television program Where The Action Is.
Memorable tracks by the band include: "This Precious Time", a wild version of "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" and several Knight originals: "Numbers," "A Change On The Way" and "Love, Love, Love, Love, Love." An interesting note is that The Music Explosion issued an almost identical version of "Love, Love, Love, Love, Love" -- same instrumental backing track but a different vocal track; it's unclear whether The Pack or the Music Explosion recorded the "original".
Terry Knight & The Pack were mainstays on Cleveland's TV rock & roll showcase, Upbeat. In addition, they opened regional gigs for the Rolling Stones, Dave Clark Five and The Yardbirds. Michigan newspapers lavished praise upon the band, with extensive coverage by Lorraine Alterman (later of The New York Times).
The Pack fared better live and, soon enough, a shrewd set list of British Invasion stompers, rollickin' good showmanship and the occasional lucky break earned them a spot as top teen entertainers throughout an ever-expanding regional circle. They opened shows for all the big attractions passing through town, such as the Dave Clark Five (who drew 17,000 youngsters into Flint Michigan's Cobo Hall). Increased experience and growing audiences went hand-in-hand to feed their renown; the gigs multiplied and The Pack, now renamed Terry Knight & The Pack, scored a televised performances and were 'thee' in-demand Michigan rocker band...
