Description
Issue 89 of Soul Up North is out NOW!
ALL MY SALES ARE ALWAYS PLAY-GRADED
AND NOT JUST GIVEN A VISUAL ONCE-OVER
ALL THE ITEMS I AM SELLING COME FROM FORTY YEARS OF COLLECTING SOUL
THERE WILL BE SOME REAL GEMS, SO MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN
SOME OF MY LISTINGS CARRY 'BORROWED' SOUND CLIPS BENEATH THE TITLE
ALL MY ITEMS START WELL BELOW BOOK VALUE
SOME FROM AS LITTLE AS 50p
60s GROUP NORTHERN SOUL/GARAGE/MOD
ORIGINAL U.S. PROMO
COLLECTABLE BLUE-EYED TWO-SIDER
THAT OFTEN BOOKS AS HIGH AS £200
LOTS OF EFFECTIVE BREAKS ON THE MID-TEMPO "STOP" SIDE
BUT THE MORE UPTEMPO FLIP IS A FINE DANCER TOO
SLIGHTLY MORE MOD OR GARAGE IN STYLE
WITH SOME SCREAMING VOCALS AND VERY NICE HARMONICA-PLAYING
IT'S IN DECIDELY GOOD SURROUNDINGS IN THE ABC-PARAMOUNT LABEL RUN
DAWN "BABY' GONE AWAY" (10791) - THE REFLECTIONS "LIKE ADAM AND EVE" (10794) - EDDIE REGAN "PLAYIN' HIDE AND SEEK" (10795) - EDDIE BISHOP "CALL ME" (10799)
PRODUCED BY DON COSTA FOR HIS DON COSTA PRODUCTIONS SET-UP (D.C.P.)
COSTA WAS OPERATING FROM NEW YORK AT THE TIME
SO I ASSUME THIS ISN'T THE SAME GROUP THAT RECORDED "THE TWO OF US"
THEY WERE FROM OHIO, AND CHANGED THEIR NAME TO THE PLAYERS IV
HALF-WAY THROUGH THE PRODUCTION RUN OF THEIR SOLE KNOLL 45
