5-Octave Voice, Exotic, Hollywood Fav YMA SUMAC "Miracles'; used LP. This is a single owner, original used promotion LP (with sticker on the back and hole punch in the corner of the sleeve). The sleeve shows wear. The album plays beautifully, accenting her wonderful and range-rich voice. "Miracles" was her first rock album, issued in 1971. Her official websitesaid she was pleased by her performance, particularly the coloratura, but wasn’t happy with the album cover.Her profile rose during the lounge music period of the 1990s. Her songs were used in numerous movies and by other performers.
Peruvian-born Yma Sumac was a diva who won a Guinness World Record for the Greatest Range of Musical Value in 1956, her range approached five octaves. The 1950s were the years of Sumac's greatest popularity; She played Carnegie Hall, the Roxy Theatre with Danny Kaye, Las Vegas nightclubs and concert tours of South America and Europe. She put out a number of hit albums for Capitol Records --- "Mambo!" (1954) and "Fuego del Ande"(1959). She appeared in the films"Secret of the Incas" (1954) with Charlton Heston and Robert Young, and "Omar Khayyam" (1957).
