1958 Mercury Records, 12 inch, 33 1/3 RPM Living Presence Stereo LP, Cat. #SR90172, Deep Groove / Maroon Label with Silver Print. Side one Matrix #SR 90172A FR-1 / Side 2 Matrix # SR90175B FR-1. Featuring: Antal Dorati conducting The Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. Titled: "COPLAND: Rodeo (Four Dance Episodes); El Salon Mexico; Danzon Cubano".
If you're not familiar with this artist/Title, here's some additional information: " “Living Presence” series was one of Mercury labels, for Classical music. Like its series name, it gives us "a living presence" sound. Among all Mercury releases, this “Living Presence” series may be the most famous among audiophiles, and thus much of this release includes so expensive, hard-to-find records in the second-hand market. Among them, the most famous ones are the legendary Stereo releases, a high-fidelity “FR press” Stereo platters, most of which were released between 1958-1960.
The Absolute Sound (often referred to as "TAS") is an American monthly magazine which reviews audiophile-oriented sound-reproduction and recording equipment and recordings, and comments on various music-related subjects. It was founded in 1973 by Harry Pearson, who remains the Chairman of its Editorial Advisory Board and regularly contributes a feature entitled HP's Workshop. The magazine is published by Absolute Multimedia, Inc., of Austin, Texas. / Harry Pearson - often referred to as HP, is known amongst the HiFi fraternity to have "Golden Ears" - the ability to hear very acutely and able to distinguish tiny differences between different components in the music playing HiFi systems reviewed by him and his colleagues".
The Vinyl is Near Mint (9-9.5 of 10) in condition. With Original Plastic Bag Inner Sleeve. The cover is very nice. The only issue to report is some very slight corner softening. Nothing serious on this 51 year old LP!!.
