Description

This auction is for a collection of 5 (five) vinyl LP records. They are original movie soundtracks circa 1980s (1 is from 1978). The average person would say that they are in good or better condition with no scratches, no warping. The only defects of note are: scuffing along part of the top left edge (spine) of the Midnight Express outer cover; and a cut-out on the lower left edge of Back To The Future (done by the record company as issued; it's called a "cut out"). Neither of those caveats affect the actual records inside.

The vinyl LP's in this lot include: Back To The Future (1985); Less Than Zero (1987); Streets of Fire 1984; Stormy Monday (1988 with 2 songs by BB King); and Midnight Express (1978).

Vinyl LP records have been gaining renewed respectability over the years. The reasons include: warmer sound; larger artwork; deeper sonic quality that lets you hear the highs and lows of frequency.

From Don Lindlich Sound Advice: "With digital sources you plug it in and you are done, and you get what you get.  With vinyl you can tweak your record playing system to get the sound that you want through your choice of equipment.  Want more musical detail?  You can get a new phono cartridge with a stylus shape that will pull more music from the grooves, or upgrade the stylus on your existing cartridge.  Want more warmth?  Get a phono preamp that uses vacuum tubes.  Want to improve everything?  Upgrade your turntable.  Sometimes it is surprising how it all comes together and how a change can take your system to the next level.
