Description
AUCTION: Five vintage EP 45 rpm records by the country/bluegrass artist Jimmie Rodgers, the Yodeling Brakeman. These records and sleeves are in sad condition. They are from my parent's collection and have been stored and moved around for decades by them. Two of the sleeves originally held two extended play records but one is missing from each of those sleeves. These were issued in the 1950s, two have dates, 1955 and 1956. The records included in this auction are:
- Yodelingly Yours Vol. 1 - Blue Yodel #1 (T for Texas) , Frankie and Johnny, The Brakeman's Blues, Away Out on the Mountain
- Yodelingly Yours Vol. 2 - My Old Pal, Desert Blues, i'm Sorry We Met, Blue Yodel #3 (Evening Sun Yodel)
- Yodelingly Yours Vol. 3 - My Carolina Sunshine Girl, Sleep Baby Sleep, Blue Yodel #2 (My Lovin' Gal Lucille) , Tuck Away My Lonesome Blues
- Travellin' Blues - One record with sides 1 and 4 only. Record has chip in rim not extending into grooves. Home Call, Travelin' Blues, Miss the Mississippi And You, Mother The Queen of My Heart. The second record with sides 2 and 3 is missing.
- Never No Mo' Blues - One record with sides 1 and 4 only. Never No Mo' Blues, Daddy and Home, Jimmie's Mean Mama Blues, Old Pal of My Heart. The second record with sides 2 and 3 is missing.
CONDITION: Sleeves are in poor condition with stains, split tops and bottoms, badly worn corners etc. Look at the photos closely. Two records are missing, see description. I have no record player so I cannot assess the condition of the vinyl records. They have been played, I remember hearing them many times. One record has a chip in the rim that does not extend into the grooves.
