Description

On auction is a job lot of 5 DEMONSTRATION RECORDS  all released on the COLUMBIA label in the 1960s. All are in COLUMBIA label company sleeves.

They are all 1960s COLUMBIA singles that are all scarce in DEMO form...  They range in condition from VG to VG-.  They all play throughout – without any jumps or sticking – and this auction represents a chance to own lesser condition copies of scarce titles in demo format. PLEASE do not bid if you are after EX copies of these rare demos. They are all demo records that I have pleased to have owned in my collection because I have kept them with together with better condition stock copies of each title. AND – part of my enjoyment has been having DEMOs with the iconic and stylistic red ‘A’s on them and the dates of release printed on these early DJ copies [see scans!]

The demos are –

  • ZOOT MONEY'S BIG ROLL BAND - PLEASE STAY c/w YOU KNOW YOU'LL CRY. Columbia DB 7600 released in 1965. The vinyl is visually in nice VG+ condition and it plays well with some occasional background surface noise during quiet passages: so I would grade it as VG overall.
  • THE ZEPHYRS - She's lost you c/w Did you ever. Columbia DB 7558 released in 1966.  The vinyl is visually in VG condition on the A side and VG- on the B side which has more surface marks. Yet despite that the disc plays very well and sounds fine with some background noise on the B side. It does not have an original centre.
  • THE SMOKE - If the weather's sunny c/w I would if I could but I can't.  Columbia DB 8252  released in 1967. The vinyl is visually in VG- with some surface  and scuff marks on both sides. It plays OK with some background surface noise and some clicks half-way through the A side which lasts for several seconds.
  • THE HULLABALLOOS - I'll show you how to love c/w Did you ever.  Columbia DB 7558  released in 1965. The vinyl is visually in VG condition and it plays well. It does not have an original centre.
  • THE  GRAHAM BOND ORGANISATION - St James Infirmary c/w Soul Tango.  Columbia DB 7838  released in 1966. Vinyl is visually in VG condition on the A side and VG- on the B side which is more marked. It plays with  background surface noise during quiet passages.

I have enjoyed having these in my collection for many years  now - and this is your chance to own them - However - please DO NOT bid if you are after EX copies of these scarce demos. These range from vg- to vg as detailed above.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Good luck with this auction and please note my other eBay auctions. Thank you for looking.
