Description

Selling what is left of my Rolling Stones collection on LPs and cassettes,

 including Mick Jagger and Keith Richards solo items – check my other listings.

Job lot of 4 items from 1960s + 1970s + 1980s

Condition: used, will be of interest to completist collectors, expect a bit of dust – I haven't wanted to clean them myself.

I will accept reasonable offers.

No band name on the cover, photo by Guy Webster

Keith Richards's surname spelt "Richard" throughout, the stage name he used in those days.

Matrix stamped: XARL-7209-6B / XARL-7210-3A

Band members listed on the labels as MICK, KEITH, CHARLIE, BRIAN & BILL.

Sleeve was "laminated with Clarifoil" and has discoloration marks and some cellotape at the top.

Backsleeve includes a text by engineer Dave Hassinger. Printed in England.

Vinyl has scratches, expect some skipping. The value is in the sleeve and label details.

First Rolling Stones album produced by The Glimmer Twins (aka Mick & Keith)

Includes the cover of The Temptations song "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" (Motown)

Last album with Mick Taylor who is said to have made writing contributions to Till the Next Goodbye and Time Waits for No One – not credited.

The track It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It) was primarily laid down by Ronnie Wood on a 12–string acoustic guitar with the drummer of The Faces, Kenney Jones; David Bowie features on backing vocals and Willie Weeks on bass. On the inner sleeve is stated "Inspiration by Ronnie Wood", Kenny Jones (with this spelling) and Willie Weeks are mentioned but not Bowie.

Band members are listed as follows: "Cast in order of appearance: Keith Richards, Mick Taylor, Charlie Watts, Mick Jagger, Bill Wyman"

It's a gatefold cover with a colour photo in the centre. 2 Paper inner sleeves included.

Condition: a few discoloration spots on cover and inners, vinyls have a few marks, expect possible crackle or little skips

Keith Richards's surname spelt "Richard" throughout.

Includes tracks from the 1971 album Sticky Fingers because ABKCO co-owned the rights to the songs recorded in the studio before the 1970 split from that record company.

"Over 100 minutes of music" is stated on the back cover

The track listing is different from the 1977 compilation Get Stoned – 30 Greatest Hits.

Condition: discoloration spots on inner, location and date handwritten in highlighter, the vinyl has marks, expect little skips.

Some tracks co-produced with Nile Rodgers.

Personnel include: Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, Bernard Fowler, Nile Rodgers, GE Smith, Herbie Hancock, Peter Corriston (art design).

Illustrated inner sleeve included with 1929 artwork by Lynd Ward, an American artist who created wood engraving for his graphic novels. The lyrics are printed on the inner sleeve.

Back cover: cassette logo with the words "home taping is killing music".

Includes 'Lonely at The Top' (co-written M Jagger / K Richards)

 

Please check all the high definition photos for condition of sleeves. All vinyl records are in one piece, playing condition varies (read above). More photos on request.

LPs will be sent in a reinforced cardboard package for vinyl records, marked FRAGILE / HANDLE WITH CARE. It weighs 1kg200g. I am sending by Royal Mail 'Signed For' service for Europe it's 'Tracked & Signed'. Customs / Import tax, if any, is the buyer's responsibility. I am not using Hermes courier as they do not cover vinyl records in their policy. 

I will combine or reduce postage if you buy more than 1 lot of items, if Royal Mail measurement and weight restrictions allow.
