Description
Four 10 inch acetate discs containing soundtracks to "The Tony Martin Show" television broadcasts from 1955
A total of eight soundtracks on these four 10 inch, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum, 33 1/3 rpm discs. Discs are in Very Good or better condition with Very Good Sound. These are Audiodisc home recording private records recorded from television. Given this, the sound is actually quite good, better than what I would have expected from discs made from television
Each show runs approximately 14 minutes, the recording is faded up during the introduction and ends after the closing announcement, sometimes faded out during the commercial that would follow the TV show
Programs are sponsored by Bobbi Pin-Curl Permanents, White Rain Shampoo, 5 Day Deodorant Pads with commercials
All programs star Tony Martin with a singing group (that I believe is called The Interludes) and most likely David Rose & His Orchestra
I could not find reference to existing copies of these broadcasts, either in film or audio form
These were recorded off of television, however they sound much better than I expected from home recording discs, very enjoyable, and possibly the best specimens of these soundtracks you will find
