This auction is for four superb condition blues LPs from the Blues Classics label, titled “Chicago Blues: The Early 1950s”, “Detroit Blues: The Early 1950s”, “Memphis & The Delta – The 1950s” and “Texas Blues: The Early ‘50s”. These are all from the Blues Classics series of records, so you can be guaranteed of their quality! The first LP concentrates on Chicago, with featured artists Homesick James, Baby Face Leroy, Little Walter, J.B. Hutto, Eddie Boyd, Junior Wells, Little Willie Foster, Snooky Pryor and Moody Jones, Johnny Young, Floyd Jones, Big Walter “Shakey” Horton, Robert Nighthawk and John Brim. The second concentrates on artists originally from Detroit, such as Baby Boy Warren, Dr. Ross, Bobo Jenkins, Eddie Kirkland, Detroit Count, L.C. Green, Big Maceo, John Lee Hooker, One String Sam and Brother Will Hairston. The third features blues from Memphis and the Mississippi Delta region, namely Houston Boines, Luther Huff, Junior Brooks, Harmonica Frank Floyd, Forest City Joe, Roosevelt Sykes, Joe Hill Louis, Sunnyland Slim, Boyd Gilmore, Drifting Slim, Willie Love, James Cotton, Baby Face Turner and Elmore James. The final LP features artists from the Lone Star State such as Smokey Hogg, Mercy Dee, Frankie Lee Sims, John Hogg, Buddy Chiles, L.C. Williams, Texas Alexander, Lightnin’ Hopkins and another track called “Tom Moore’s Farm” accredited to “Anonymous”. Absolutely essential.
