Description

This week’s auctions return to the usual potpourri of interesting 78-RPM rarities and oddities. Happy bidding!

This is a nice set of four blue "wax" shellac records from 1934 and 1935 featuring the Hawaiian steel guitar sounds of Andy Iona. The discs are in very good condition with great shine.

Record condition grading

My grading covers the visual condition of the record taken as a whole, not the actual recording.   I tend to undergrade – so when you see a record graded "B", it will actually be a record in very good condition.   For 2-sided records, the lowest grade of the two will be reported.   In some cases, each side will be individually reported.

Grade Condition    A   Excellent. No signs of any wear.    A-   Excellent. A few minor instances of wear and/or very light scratches.    B+   Very good. A few instances of wear and/or small scratches.    B   Very good. Many instances of wear and/or small scratches.    B-   Very good. Many instances of wear and/or moderate scratches.    C   Average. Rather worn looking and/or with heavy scratches.    D   Worn out.
