Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

TRIPLE ECHO never was released on CD
This original 3 LPs box-set which comes with a great, color photos book full of never seen before pictures, but the most interesting feature is the Canterbury family tree. Knowing the changes of line-ups between each Soft Machine album, building this tree should have been a huge task for its creator who allows you to link all the Canterbury bands with each other thanks to all those musicians moving from one band to another. A very nice historical document about the Canterbury musical scene indeed!
All different periods of SOFT MACHINE are not represented equally; The first 2 albums from the psychedelic vocal period takes a full LP. The THIRD era , their most successful commercial and artistic peak covers an LP all by itsef. The ''best'' moments of FOURTH anf FIFTH find a way to be on 1 side of the LP. But the JENKINS era is badly misrepresented as SIX, SEVEN, BUNDLES and SOFTS--4 albums--contain only one song of each
What makes this box set interesting is the addition of unreleased LP tracks being the first 4 songs were only available as singles a very long time ago in early 1967 at the time when DAEVID ALLEN (pre-GonG was with the band. Only a different version of the sweet haunting "MEMORIES" could previously be heard on the JET-PROPELLED PHOTOGRAPH, an album disappeared years ago. LOVE MAKES SWEET MUSIC is a nice typical song from this time , kind of commercial when a very young SOFT MACHINE was trying to reach the charts but with their very already peculiar way. Weirdness was not very far away as you hear on FEELIN, REELIN, SQUELLIN another unearthed gem.
LP 2 is where you will find other goodies. MOON IN JUNE is played differently in a shortened 13mns version; the band plays tighter, a lot of HOPPER fuzz bass, a great WYATT performance. There are also different versions of parts from THIRD. Excerpts from SLIGHTLY ALL THE TIME are taken of the suite and being given another musical treatment giving them their own particular personality. The sublime BACKWARDS is of course present as well, and a different jazzier version of ESTHER NOSE JOB from VOLUME 2.
Only the third LP doesn't bring anything new! 2 tunes from FOURTH are included. On the last side, and STANLEY STAMPS GIBBON ALBUM was the most representative song of SIX,
TRIPLE ECHO was issued as an overview of all SOFT MACHINE different musical phases, including FOURTH and as such , it succeeds very well. TRIPLE ECHO is a perfect introduction and essential collectible for the unreleased 'nuggets' and vintage never-seen photos.
There are some unheard jewels on this album.
