3 Antique VOGUE Picture Vinyl Records 78 Rpm Irving Berlin Jimmy Johnson
This listing is for three vintage picture records. Vogue Picture Records were manufactured in Detroit, Michigan, at Sav-Way Industries during 1946 and 1947. The brainchild of inventor and entrepreneur Tom Saffady, Vogue records were designed to get attention. In an age of highly breakable, black shellac 78 rpm records, Vogues were different. Saffady used an aluminum platter as his base, adding a color drawing that completely covered the aluminum. The platter was then laminated with clear vinyl, into which the music was encrypted. Today, Vogue Picture Records are prized for the work of their graphic artists who have slipped into obscurity. Their images reflect that era and its music, both popular and classical.
These Vogue records are double sided both with art and music! They feature a wide variety of music and artists such as:
"Blue Skies" by Irving Berlin
"If I could be with you" by Henry Creamer and Jimmy Johnson
"Jeannine" by L. Wolfe Gilbert and Nathaniel Shilkret
"Go west, Young man, go west!" by Jack Edwards and Lew Garfield
"More than you know" By William Rose, Edward Eliscu, and Vincent Youmans
The records are all in very good quality. I do not know if the records still play music, they are untested. These would be amazing for vintage music decor. Some light scratching and wear from age and use. See photos for full description. Sold as is.
