MEGA RARE 2LP Oistrakh = SAX 2304 & 33CX 1660 NM /NM-
Description
SOUND SAMPLE AUTO STARTED WHEN YOU OPENED THE PAGE, TURN UP THE VOLUME... and have a READ .
Stereo copy NM/NM VERY silent (except the music!!)Full replay, no damage whatsoever visually or audibly, and with a Violin recording with lots of quiet sections, that is super important !! If the winner hears a tic or a toc, apart from the opening quiet ones in side one minute,I can guarantee it is rogue dust arriving on the surface since I fully test played after professional wet wash) BE aware the sound sample talked about below accentuates treble (Hence more static crackle that you DON'T hear through your Hi Fi) and is low quality, but you get the idea.
Yes I have pretty much fully test played this after professionally washing it,
ITEMS are located in AUSTRALIA, see further down for Australia Post Rates to your destination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Australian buyers can pay in AUD,
UK BUYERS BE AWARE, Records category states maximum post is 4GBP, however this is EXEMPT under the multiple, or BULKY items ruling and therefore normal airmail rates will apply to UK buyers from Australia. (AUD29.25/16.70GBP including packaging).
IN CASE AN OVERSEAS BUYER PAYS THE INVOICE BEFORE I GET TO ADJUST IT IN LINE WITH THE CHART BELOW, A REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS OR A REFUND IF OVERPAID WILL SOON FOLLOW!!!!!
Postage calculator NOT WORKING ACCURATELY when I live in Australia....... Item will be mailed from Australia, see list of world zones just below for air mail rate from Australia, do not pay automated ebay invoice (IF ONE ARRIVES) until receiving adjusted postage invoice.
These LP's have the SAME MASTER STAMPERS as the very expensive and very rare COLUMBIA UK pressing stock No. SAX 2304 Stereo AND 33CX 1660 MONO.
For regular readers of my listings, STEREO album is the ONLY one I have seen in austalia, and I have seen a lot of World record club records....
For the interested, WRC records were pre ordered by members via mail order, and then a bulk order placed with EMI to press the number of discs on pre order . This method of stock control meant precise numbers of discs were pressed according to pre ordered records over the ensuing 12 month catalogue. This means only records that were ordered were made, there was no overrun of stock held "hoping" for a sale from stock. For me that makes this a fairly exclusive pressing, and you are unlikely to find too many more, goodness knows it took me 3 years of stock searching to find this one!!!
Originally released in the UK in 1958, these are pressings from the masters imported from the UK to EMI Australia.
Track list and performers
MOZART Violin Concerto No.3 in G major, K.216
Prokofiev Violin Concerto No.2 in G minor, Op.63
David Oistrakh / Alceo Galliera conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra
Recording May 1958 this issue pressed in Australia around 1966 (artwork on Australian only cover is dated 1966
OZ pressed stereo disc from UK stampers. Stampers codes are visible in super size photo's in runout dead wax.
Stampers side 1 YAX 223-10
Stampers side 2 YAX 224-11
33OCX 1660 Australian pressed from UK 1st edition stampers
Stampers side 1 XAX 1512-1N
Stampers side 2 XAX 1513-1N
The stereo record is probably rarer than the original UK copy, issued in a country at the time in the 60's with a total population of 12 million people, and only available by mail order. A lot of Aussies back then had to buy by mail, not many people lived near a record retailer back then. I lived on a farm 300 km from a record shop (Big Country)Check out my other items Audiophile and Classical
Records fully test played and treated with archive preservative(LAST), test play report below
OZ pressed 33OCX 1660, rated as NM- due to mild scuffing (non Sounding) and a record retailer sticker on one side label. Cover is neat but only rated Excellent, due to light rubbing and creases in front cover near opening from spreading opening to extract record over time. This LP was a retail issue copy, not a mail order version as per the stereo copy also offered in this auction, hence the more UK looking cover artwork. (but I will guarantee they were both pressed at EMI Sydney)
SOME STAMPER NUMBERS NUMBERS ARE VISIBLE IN THE SUPERSIZE PHOTO'S
I thought someone might like a less expensively priced 60's analogue production and appreciate it for the sound, and not because its a valuable investment as the originals have become.
If you already have an original UK Columbia pressing, Buy THIS lp and You can play it instead of wearing out your original investment !
If you only purchase this item, normal post rates as quoted will apply from Australia (in AUD$ for reference, 1GBP is approximately $1.75AUD, or $1aud buys 59 pence approx)
based on LP and packing weighing 750Gms. POST COST FOR WORLD ZONES is AS PER THE TABLE BELOW Quote is for Australia post cost rate, plus a brand new box and packing (custom Manufactured = $2)

- International Buyers – Please Note:
- Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
NO..... I will not reduce the stated value of the LP on any customs declarations, Australia post bases its insurance on the declared value, so if I understate it I am at risk of losing its value should it go missing, You as a buyer are covered by paypal protection, so bid accordingly.
NO .... Paypal does not cover me if its not insured, I know I have looked into the situation EXTENSIVELY!!
Condition (see Photo's) COVER- not much to say other than the exclusive Australian covers are Near Mint (stereo) and excellent (Mono)These has been looked after,
LP's are shiny with NO paper scuffs on stereo copy, even in very bright sunlight . (see final 2 photo's in full sunlight), the sunlight even shows the first few grains of statically attracted dust after the professional wash!!.
LP's were dust and fingerprint free on first inspection. STEREO Copy has NO sign of spindle wear or rotational marks, may have never been played prior to my full wash and test play!!.
Mono copy has obvious spindle wear. The original pressing lustre on BOTH LP's is as good as the day they left the press. Records have been wet washed in a Knosti Bath, followed by a treatment 'Last' Record Preserver (said to protect against wear damage for upto 200 plays) Most audiophiles such as yourself are probably already using the treatment, but at least I've saved you the effort and the expense. .
Full test play confirmed their glossy condition as Near Mint, and NM- for the mono.
Any time I heard an odd pip. I just replayed that section and the dust would unstick.
Has it's original clear world record club dust jacket, and Columbia clear plastic only inners, but I am supplying a more modern anti stat audiophile cover as used for half speed mastered pressings by Mobile Fidelity (MFSL)
