Description

The seller received this 1981 rare promo test pressing box set LP as a promotional copy from the label.  The set includes a test pressing LP, lyrics insert page printed on textured paper, and foldout cardstock publicity insert - all housed in a black box with adhered 20/20 photo sticker.  The disc was visually inspected and appears to be in NM condition.  The disc has rare non-standard WHITE TEST PRESSING LABELS.

The labels have this wording printed on them:  "This is a test pressing intended for use in determining the technical quality of the recording only.  It is not to be sold or distributed to the public."  "CBS Records Santa Maria 1981 CBS Inc."

Recorded at American Recording Studios, Studio City, CA, November-December '80

(Wikipedia Excerpts)  20/20 was an American power pop band based in Hollywood, California. They were active from 1977 to 1983 and reunited during the mid-1990s to the late 1990s. In the mid-1970s, Steve Allen and Ron Flynt played together in Tulsa.  Allen and Flynt were graduates of Nathan Hale High School, and both attended Oklahoma State University, where Flynt earned a degree in music. Allen decided to move to Los Angeles in 1977 after fellow Tulsa natives Phil Seymour and Dwight Twilley met with success. Once in Los Angeles, Allen met with Mike Gallo (singer/songwriter/keyboardist/drummer), who had already conceived of the idea and name for the band (after having spent time in the UK). Gallo first started writing with Allen, and later auditioned Allen's friend from Tulsa, Ron Flynt, for 20/20. The three-piece band signed with Greg Shaw's Bomp! Records in 1978 to record a single. Between the release of the single, and their first LP on Portrait Records, Chris Silagyi joined the band as a keyboardist.  During the recording of the first album, Gallo was let go from the band. Phil Seymour played drums on all of the album's songs except one.  Afterwards Joel Turrisi joined and played on Look Out!, their second album.

Seller is the Original Owner. I have recently begun to list my 2500+ record collection on Ebay, so please check back occasionally to see my new listings. My collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983. Most of my vinyl records have never been played, and many have their original shrink wrap. Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired many promotional and collectible LPs from that era.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.
