LOT of 2 x 7" ACETATES:
UNCREDITED ARTIST - DUNCAN BROWNE?
You are bidding on a nice pair of EMIDISC single-sided acetate discs. Titles are "Who Is Julie" and "Monday On The Moon", with no recording artists credited. However, written on each label is "FUGAL SONGS" which a quick Google throws up a mere six results, the only relevant one being that this was a company set up by DUNCAN BROWNE at CARLIN music - where most of these acetate discs from this collection seem to have come from...
Both are obviously demo recordings, sounding late 1960s - "WHO IS JULIE" is vocals and folky guitar, very much in The Honeybus vein. "MONDAY ON THE MOON" features vocals and piano. Both appear to be totally undocumented and unreleased. Hopefully the winning bidder can do a bit more detective work. Or just enjoy the music...
I presume these come from after the 1968 IMMEDIATE album "Give Me Take You" and the 1973 RAK self-titled album...
GOOD LUCK AND CHECK MY OTHER ACETATE AUCTIONS!!!

On 15-May-08 at 10:03:55 BST, seller added the following information:I've just heard a copy of the IMMEDIATE album, and am now certain that the vocalist on the "Who Is Julie" acetate disc IS definitely Duncan Browne. A fairly unique fragile wistful voice - the vocal mannerisms on "Monday On The Moon" are slightly different, but the songwriting style is very similar (describing looking for golden apples etc.) so I suspect this is most likely Duncan too.
Very hard to put a date on these, but I'm fairly sure they are sixties recordings - either prior to the Immediate LP or just after. Obviously there was quite a gap between his album releases. Hopefully these discs will go to someone who can properly research, restore and document this historic find...
Good luck bidding - a lot of people watching this!
