On offer here is a VERY rare Double LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Who called "Tommy" and is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press 'Matt' Track labels!!!!  THIS AMAZING DOUBLE LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF THE WHO'S RAREST & MOST SOUGHT AFTER LPs EVER - AND ALMOST NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE (AS A 1ST PRESSING!)!!!!  BUT WHAT MAKES THIS DOUBLE LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS 100% COMPLETE - WITH A 'TRIPLE GATEFOLD' LAMINATED COVER & NUMBERED BOOKLET!!!!  HOWEVER, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING 'TOMMY' 1ST PRESSINGS I HAVE EVER HAD - AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY DATE THIS TO LATE JULY 1969, AROUND 2 MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL RELEASE DATE!!!!  THE FIRST DETAIL THAT INTERESTED ME MOST, IS THE NUMBER ON THE BOOKLET!!!!  AND THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY HIGH '76158'!!!!  IN THE PAST THE PREVIOUS HIGHEST NUMBER I HAD FOUND OR SEEN WAS IN THE 66000s - SO THIS WAS A BIT OF A SHOCK, AS IT SHOWED THAT THE BOOKLETS WERE STILL BEING NUMBERED 10,000 COPIES LATER THAN I THOUGHT THEY HAD!!!!  AND SECONDLY WHAT IT ALSO VERY INTERESTING, IS THAT YOU CAN DATE THIS LP EXACTLY!!!!  NOW, LIKE ALL 1ST PRESSINGS - IT HAS A LAMINATED TRIPLE 'FOLD OUT' E.J.DAY 'PATENTS PENDING' GATEFOLD COVER (LATER ONES ARE UNLAMINATED), A 'NUMBERED' BOOKLET ('76158' - LATER ONES HAVE NO NUMBER!), AND 'MATCHING' PLAIN 'DIE-CUT' FLIPBACK INNER SLEEVES!!!!  HOWEVER, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE CHANGES (RIGHT AT THE END OF THE 1ST PRESSING RUN IN JULY 1969) STARTING TO HAPPEN ON THE RECORDS!!!!  ONE RECORD HAS THE 1ST PRESS 'DOUBLE LP' TEXT ON THE LABELS AND THE OTHER RECORD HAS THE 2ND PRESS LABELS WITH THE 'SET NUMBER' ADDED!!!!  NOW IMMEDIATELY SOME MIGHT SAY - SURELY A RECORD WAS SWOPPED????  BUT NO!!!!  BECAUSE THE MATRIXES ARE:- A1/B3/A1/B2 - AND SHOW THESE RECORDS TO BE EXACTLY 100% CORRECT FOR JULY 1969!!!!  BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THEY ARE HIGHER THAN THE 1/1/1/1 MATRIXES FROM MAY 1969 - THEY ARE ALSO LOWER THAN THE MATRIXES USED ON THE EARLIEST 2ND PRESSINGS (WITH UNLAMINATED COVERS!) WHICH STARTED IN AUGUST 1969.  NOW OBVIOUSLY MANY PEOPLE STRIVE FOR THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - BUT THIS PARTICULAR COPY I FIND EVEN MORE INTERESTING, AS BARELY ANY WERE EVER MADE LIKE THIS!!!!  AND EVEN MORE INTERESTINGLY - BECAUSE THE UNLAMINATED COVERS, NON-NUMBERED BOOKLETS, AND 'SET NUMBERS' WITH HIGHER MATRIXES STARTED IN AUGUST 1969 - YOU CAN ACTUALLY DATE THIS DOUBLE LP EXACTLY - TO THE END OF JULY 1969 (2 MONTHS AFTER THE RELEASE DATE!)!!!!  AND THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN RARELY DO WITH CERTAINTY ON A DOUBLE LP THAT IS NOW 46 YEARS OLD!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY LAST & RAREST 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - RIGHT ON THE CHANGEOVER IN JULY 1969, AND BARELY ANY CAN POSSIBLY EXIST LIKE THIS!!!!

NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS DOUBLE LP IS IN GREAT CONDITION - AND IS A VERY DECENT EXAMPLE INDEED, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO MAJOR DEFECTS AT ALL!!!!  JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1969 UK 'LAST EVER' 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS 'MATT' TRACK LABELS (WITH 1ST & 2ND PRESS LABELS AS OUTLINED ABOVE!), 1ST PRESS 'MATCHING' INNER SLEEVES, 1ST PRESS 'NUMBERED' BOOKLET (ONE OF THE LAST 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE '76158'!), AND 1ST PRESS 'E.J.DAY' TRIPLE GATEFOLD LAMINATED 'PATENTS PENDING' COVER!!!!  THIS AMAZING DOUBLE LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL Track UK 1st Pressing from 1969 and is in GREAT condition!!!!  The records are pressed on THICK quality vinyl.  The Cat. No is 613 013/4 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Matt' Track Labels (see picture) and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing (there were NO Monos)!!!!

The record labels on BOTH records are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO writing, NO wear, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THESE RECORDS HAVE BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl to BOTH records are in GREAT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s Double LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and BOTH records have NO nasty feelable scratches, only 2 or 3 light hairlines, only 2 or 3 VERY light scufflines, and only a few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  BOTH RECORDS STILL RETAIN THEIR ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!!  It is great to find that the records play as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The records must grade Very Good+ if not better!!!!  Believe me these records are NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!!  Brillant!!!!  The records also come in their ORIGINAL 1st Press Plain 'Die-cut' flipback inner sleeves which are both in SUPERB condition!!!!  The ORIGINAL 1st Press (76158) Booklet (see picture) is absolutely SUPERB condition - and doesnt look to have EVER been removed from the cover!!!!  AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB NUMBERED BOOKLET!!!!  The ORIGINAL 'Earliest' 1st Press 'E.J.Day' Triple Gatefold Laminated 'Patents Pending' Cover is in GREAT condition overall - and is a very VERY presentable example indeed!!!!  The cover has NO splits, NO sticker marks, some evidence of 'touching in' to the edges & spine, NO spine splits, NO rips, NO tears, NO flaking to the spine, slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), shiny laminate, some evidence of 'tipping in' to the corners, NO annotations, only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), NO pinholes, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edges & fold-out edges are still nice and straight with barely ANY feathering!!!!  There is also a MEGA thin repair along the inside bottom edge (where the records are held), though this is EXTREMELY well done and VERY hard to spot!!!!  Even the unlaminated inside of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO writing, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, 1 crease to the outer fold out, NO ringwear, NO grubbyness, and NO yellowing!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good(Minus) (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not better - and is still a VERY presentable cover indeed!!!!  THIS DOUBLE LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
