Description
Two AMAZING examples of ORIGINAL Otis Redding LP's, released during his lifetime in 1964 and 1965 respectively. These are both first pressings, bought from the original owner and the LP's are both in EX to VG+ condition with no feelable scratches some fine paper scuff and very nice gloss on large groove mono discs. Both have their original inner sleeves as well. The Atco LP has a glossy front cover, consistent with the earliest of these pressings, the later ones having a more matte cover with no extra laminate. The rear non-laminated portion is also very clean and not yellowed or discolored. The VOLT LP is also very nice with the very beginnings of some ring wear. Both play amazingly well with very clean grooves with no abuse or groove damage. I'll be sad to see these go, as I rarely see two early Otis Lp's in this condition… I rarely see them ever! Guaranteed to be as described. Classic early soul from the master, and both supremely rare, especially in this condition.
I'll start the bidding at $100 but these could see some real bidding from serious collectors. I can't even find examples like these in recent auctions… either they're VG or worse, or they aren't the real first pressings like these are…
