For your consideration, a very rare treat for the vintage record and radio show collector, as well as for Lone Ranger and Green Hornet fans. These are two original 16-inch acetate transcription discs containing two full episodes of The Lone Ranger/The Green Hornet radio shows, with labels marked "WXYZ" radio in Detroit, which was the station that created and produced the original Lone Ranger and Green Hornet. The labels have "American Broadcasting Company Inc." printed on them, and then "WXYZ" is type-written on the label with the rest of the program information. WXYZ was ABC-owned during the time these records were cut. The Lone Ranger episode is "Jason, Called Joe" from April 1947. The Green Hornet is "The Double Double Cross" from July 1947. 33 rpm, played inside-out.

I don't grade records and I don't think it applies in this case. They are in reasonable condition for 68 year-old acetates. As you can see in the pictures, each side has plenty of acetate mold. I played a little but it's very hard to hear well and the records will need a good cleaning and drying before they are played through. The generic sleeves are poor but could be taped. Please keep in mind that you'd need a large record player in order to actually play these; most only accommodate 12" records. I have some other Lone Ranger/other program transcriptions that I'll be selling soon, but this is only one of two lots I'll be listing with full episodes on ABC/WXYZ acetates, and the only full episode of The Green Hornet I have.
