UP FOR SALE or AUCTION:

Jessi Colter(1943-          ),   country singer-songwriter was born Mirriam Johnson in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in a strict-Pentecostal home.  At 18 in 1961, she met and married Duane Eddy and became Mirriam Eddy and began a songwriting career with some of her songs becoming hits for singers, Dottie West, Don Gibson, Nancy Sinatra, Anita Carter and first husband Duane Eddy.  She recorded a couple of songs but they failed and did not record again until she divorced Eddy in 1968.  She met and married, her second husband, country superstar, Waylon Jennings in 1969 and then resumed her recording career-renaming herself "Jessi Colter".  Her album debut, co-produced by Chet Atkins and Jennings>>A Country Star Is Born(RCA, 1970) was a failure and the single released from it, "I Ain't The One', also did not chart.
Colter re-emerged on Capitol Records in 1975 with the huge pop-crossover hit, I'm Not Lisa, which was a #1 country hit and crossed-over to the pop singles chart, reaching #4.  This was her recording breakthrough.
in 1976, the landmark album....The Outlaws featuring Jennings, Tompall Glaser, Willie Nelson and Colter was released on RCA and was a huge hit, reaching #1 on the country charts and Top 10 on the pop chart and was the first country album to be certified platinum. Colter became one of the few females associated with the "country-outlaw" movement, singers that sort of did what they wanted with their careers on and off the charts.
Colter had substantial hits as a solo artist and in duets with her husband Jennings, up through 1984, when her last full length album, Rock & Roll Lullaby(1984, Triad) on an independent label was her last for a long while.  Colter allowed her career to lapse due to taking care of Jennings with his drug addiction and declining health.  She had a children' record in 1996 and did not record again until after Jennings' death in 2002 when she resumed her own recording career releasing a few selections since then.

She is still alive and well today and mother of her and Jennings' only child together, Waylon Albright Jennings(1979-     ) aka "Shooter Jennings" a recording artist in his own write.

Both albums that are offered for sale are relatively rare and unknown.  Her debut..A Country Star Is Born(1970, RCA) was initially a sales failure and did not chart. It quickly went out of print and was briefly re-released in 1981, in the UK.  RCA-International INTS 5072 is this release.  It is in excellent shape and is from the UK.  I have had this LP for many years.  11 songs.
Rock & Roll Lullaby(1984, Triad) was Colter's last album for almost 12 years, and also did not chart on Billboard's Top Country LP chart.  It's only single "I Want To Be With You" also failed to chart.  It is also long out of print.
