Autographed records by Gracie Fields at an all star benefit for Packages for Britain Inc. Arena Philadelphia, May 11, 1948. Dame Gracie Fields DBE OStJ (born Grace Stansfield; 1898 –1979) was an English actress, singer, comedian and star of cinema and music hall who was one of the top ten film stars in Britain during the 1930s and was considered the highest paid film star in the world in 1937. Ostracized in her native country during WWII for having wed an Italian citizen she accepted concerts in North America, raising money for the war effort amounting to more than a half-million dollars.
