2 Beatles 45 Hello Goodbye LA First Pressings 1 VERY Scarce I Am the Walrus Comet, NM!

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

This is a very special auction for two first pressings of the LA “Hello Goodbye” single.  Collectors are aware that some Scranton copies were pressed with publishing credits to Comet Music Corporation, which are rare in NM condition.

However, not many know that the Los Angeles plant had erroneously pressed copies with publishing credits to Comet Music Corporation on the “I Am the Walrus” side.  And by far, most copies from each plant credit both sides to “Maclen Music, Inc.”

This auction is for one of each Los Angeles pressings, and both copies are NM!

Hello Goodbye/ I Am the Walrus (Comet)

Vinyl: NM/NM.  VERY close to store-stock new!  Just a couple manufacturer’s defects that are tiny dots pressed into the vinyl.

Plates: G12/F5.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Labels: NM/NM. 

Sleeve: EX/EX.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol sleeve en route.

Hello Goodbye/ I Am the Walrus (Maclen)

Vinyl: NM/NM.  Store-stock new condition.

Plates: G10/G6.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Labels: NM/NM. 

Sleeve: VG+/VG+.  Very cool, has the original price stickers still affixed.  Sleeve has staple holes at the top, though.  Slightly aged sleeve, not bad.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol sleeve en route.

**By the way, these singles contain the alternate MONO mix, different from the MONO version found on the MONO “Magical Mystery Tour” LP. 

While each version contains Ringo’s drums dropping out after each “I’m crying” phrase, these singles insert an extra measure of music, just before the “Yellow matter custard” line, which was edited out of the LP MONO version.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
