1st US Edition Stereo Pressing of THE BEATLES - RUBBER SOUL from 1965- ST 2442

Description

Offered is the Stereo 1st U.S. Pressing of  The Beatles - Rubber Soul.

Below,  we have the graded conditions of both the record and the album cover.  Since there are more than 650 versions of  Rubber Soul,   we would like to list some of the known identifying characteristics of a 1st Edition Pressing  (you can see these in our photo gallery):


Capitol's Los Angeles Pressing Plant's "?" Stamper is in the Dead Wax and the LP has Black Labels with Capitol Color Band / Rainbow around their perimeters / outer edges.

The Labels do NOT say The Beatles anywhere on them, instead listing the bandmembers by name.

This same feature goes for the cover, which only says "The Beatles"  on the Spine and on Back. There is a White Border around the front cover, with the Catalog # ST 2442 to the far right of the top edge. 
 
The wording "New Improved Full Dimensional Stereo" appears inside the cover artwork, NOT above it in the white border.

The number 6 is to the left of the RIAA seal at the bottom right of the back cover.

The ''New Improved'' caption is in brown inside the picture and there is no ''File Under'' caption in the top white border.

The artist's names are above the spindle hole of the LP,  and consists of the names of the Beatles,  but does not mention the group's name. The ''Stereo'' caption reaches over the tracklisting numbers.

THE VINYL -   We have 2 grades for this 1st Pressing:

Visual (sight) Grade:  VG+ :  The LP surfaces retain much of their original gloss, with some spindlewear evident. 

Bright, undamaged, Capitol "Rainbow" Labels.  
 
Present on both sides are light marks, including sleevewear from the original paper sleeve.
 
There are no deep marks. 


Play Grade:  EX+ :  Since visually,  the marks are so shallow,  we did a complete playgrade as "hearing is believing".  The marks, while numerous,  produce no audio interference - with the exception of A2 (Norwegian Wood) where there is some light clicking.

The stereo playback is impressive.




THE COVER -   EX :  Please see photos / well-stored with some minor scuffing, and some fraying on the spine / bright colors / all of the seams, including the spine, are intact / no writing, paper loss, paper tears, dirt, or stains.


Included is the original paper inner sleeve (please see photos).   


We have placed both the cover and the LP into separate, protective plastic sleeves.
