Steve Sample The University of Alabama "Million Dollar" Marching Band is widely known for its colorful half-time presentations and has appeared on national televis- ion more often than any other college band Performing for literally hundreds of thousands of people each fall, the band has a rich tradition and history going back several decades. In addi- tion to maintaining high performance goals, the band also provides avid sup- port for the Crimson Tide football team. The band section is generally the most vocal and enthusiastic element of the student body Comprised of some 340 students with various majors and interests, the band is an exciting part of Crimson Tide spirit and tradition, as well as being the largest single organization on campus. Participation in the Marching Band ena- bles members to continue their involve- ment in a quality musical program while socializing and traveling with a large cross-section of students.
