1978 Montezuma s Revenge Country Rock Bluegrass Pvt Label LP (Royal Flush Live)
Montezuma’s Revenge – “Royal Flush Live!” (Prune 1). Montezuma’s Revenge was an original, if unusual band with a long and successful run. They were based near Spring Valley in Casa de Oro, formed in 1973, and played a mix of genres and styles that defied categorization. They called their music bionic bluegrass, but the music industry had no idea what manner of marketing label to assign them. The band played all the West Coast fairs; were regulars at Knott's Berry Farm (Montezooma's Revenge, a steel shuttle roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, was named after the bluegrass group), and Disneyland and, in 1973, they competed in a Country Western Battle of the bands, a Rock and Roll Battle of the Bands and a Bluegrass Battle of the Bands - and took first place in all three!. Cuts on the LP include: “The Ballad Of Bengue”; “Tomorrow I'm On My Way”; “Bonnie & Clyde Medley :(Wipeout, Surfer Joe, Tequila, Wooley Bully, Jungle Fever, Blue Suede Shoes, I Feel Good- I Got You, Sunshine Of Your Love)”; “Gringo”; “The Freckle Song”; “El Paso”; “It's For You”; and “Orange Blossom Special.” Private label. Record is in M- condition and cover is in VG+ condition. Postage will be paid by purchaser
