Description
Alberto Teta Lando (Mabanza Congo, June 2, 1948 - Paris, July 14, 2008) was an Angolan musician of Congo ethnicity.
Teta Lando was president of the National Union of Artists and Composers (UNAC) which, after his death, created the Art Award "Alberto Teta Lando" in his honor.
Coming from a family of 32 children, where the highlight is also the musician Teta Lágrimas, Alberto Teta Lando was one of the founding members of the Merengues group, having also participated in the Africa Show.
Author of "Negra de Karapinha Dura", "Eu vou voltar", "Um whistle mine", among other reference songs of the national music hall, Teta Lando lived, from 1978 to 1989, in Paris, where he became one of the great supporters and promoter of Angolan music from scratch.
