Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Quite RARE ... thee Original 1975 FIRST PRESS in MINTY clean condition comes the obscure Colombian GENESIS ... underground 'heads' band offering a unique mix of flavors strong enough to warrant much interest in collectors circles to the point of getting a reissue, think twice, original pressings in any condition are near impossible to find... Heer, a top copy survivor from over 40 years ago....
The 1975 second album by GENESIS delivered an amazing set of extremely well done mix of folk, rock, psychedelia and Andinean folklore flavour. Killer stuff and no more! This is an obligatory purchase for anyone into folk-rock, psychedelic & ethnic rock!!!
To collectors, one could eventually describe Genesis slightly as a softer and sweeter version of Traffic Sound (Peru) (even when the match in the description isn’t too perfect, this might give a certain idea of their percussion, with song harmonies).
There were quite a few bands who were named Genesis. The most known is of course the English band, who had a period of symphonic fantasy led by Peter Gabriel. And there was also the American Genesis, who released a great psych album ('69?), called “In The Beginning” on Mercury. More unknown to collectors were the progressive Uruguayan band Génesis who released one album (1972) and 3 singles. Hardly ever mentioned is the Colombian band Genesis, although they originated out of a relatively more known garage band Los Speakers, which had certain adventurous moves and evolutions. This Genesis released Yakta Mama In 1975. According to information it is the second of three albums which would be of international musical interest.
The is a big difference in the Latin American “progressive” scene, especially from the Spanish speaking countries. The music has a much warmer sound compared to the well exposed European countries and the US. It's hard to believe the navel-gazing idea that only English speaking countries are worth investigating. Latin America had the bad luck with politics, that the tyrannies that were established almost in every Latin American country with a US-improved cooperation that assure their economic control over the oil market. These governments oppressed music badly as well, because in the form it had those days, music creates more consciousness. Unfortunately there still is little written about Colombia. Only a handful of the 60s bands had attracted some attention outside their country (like the former Los Speakers or Los Yeti’s).
This second album is a serene rock album which is attractively arranged -which is great for repeated listens-, with a sweet and charming softness and with harmony backing vocals. Just here and there Latin folk flavors appear, in a subtle way, like the double or triple harmony flute improvisations. We hear a bit fuzz and wa-wa mixed with keys and flute and a, typical for Latin America, colorful drumming and percussion on “Reconfortame”, a more driven track which starts the album well. More 60s flavored songs follow after this, rhythmically flavored with nice and colorful percussion, with an extra added color by keys repetitions and several flute arrangements. On “Vasija De Barro”, a slightly bluesier drive appears, (mouth harmonica, electric bass), expressing this, with similar Latinrock colors and freshly arranged rhythms.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: M- very colorful, encased in outer plastic in the way South American records were produced in the '60s & '70s, after 40+ years the cover still has a fresh appearance -- there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy collectible ...
The vinyl: Rated: near M- to M- one visible soft fingernail type scuff is visible while the complete LP plays minty clean. So hard to find this clean, near impossible... both FAMOS labels are clean but note one label is a mispressing which has no affect on the overall value and rarity!
