Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. MINTY CLEAN original 1973 first pressing in clean triple thick gatefold containing massive THICK booklet - 2LP set of a giant rock opera by the mighty WHO....
By 1973, The Who had been around for a number of years. Having reinvented themselves a few times from first being false mod rockers, to pop rockers, to opera rockers, they really didn't have much to convert to now. So after recording Who's Next, Pete Townsend decides to record another Rock Opera! This is a very risky idea, with most people it can mean two things. Either be, a disappointing copy of a previous "Tommy" idea/album, or the next great work in a bands large discography. This one ended up being a great work of art, telling the great story of a mod rocker named Jimmy. Now instead of being a pinball wizard, Jimmy is a mod in the early 60s, a time The Who themselves lived through.
The album (where every single song is strong) features some of the best guitar work ever put on record by Mr. Pete Townsend, along with some great Bass work from Entwistle, Moons usual awesome drum work work, and Roger Daltreys tenor shout in its top form. What about the writing? The only Who album completely written by Pete Townsend, he sure gets into the whole concept. Side One begins with the very eerie, but great opening "I Am The Sea". This soon ends and we get the booming bass intro to "The Real Me", one of the most celebrated songs from the album. A instrumental, and a few more strong songs appear before this side ends. On the second side, it becomes a bit more diverse, getting a lot more Townsend/Daltrey switch-offs, which appear many times throughout the album. On to the second disk, and third side of the album, there are 7 long songs. The first of these, "5:15", was somewhat of a hit in the U.S and is one of the most known songs from the album. We also get a very rare Moon vocal, which he pulls off really well. On the final side, there is the great track "Doctor Jimmy", and the final song (also the most popular from the album) the great "Love Reign O'er Me". With a epic keysintro, and a roaring vocal, this is a great end track to the album.
