SCARCE advanced release PROMOTIONAL = 1973 original first pressing in grainy/textured gatefold cover ... one of the harder to find, lesser seen Lp's by "It's A Beautiful Day" ... The item was formerly owned by the legendary Ralph J. Gleason (1917-1975) who was an influential American jazz and rock music critic. He contributed for many years to the San Francisco Chronicle, and was a founding editor of Rolling Stone magazine, and cofounder of the Monterey Jazz Festival ...after Gleason passed away, his family held on to his record collection for many years, having just recently sold it off...here is one of his collection items with his name (or initials) scrawled in ink pen on both sides of the label. Collectible as it is.
It's A Beautiful Day "TODAY" has been said to be the most underrated album of the 70’s, if not of all time, period. The music is well written with an extremely tight performance. Almost every song should have been a hit.
It's a Beautiful Day - Today is the one from 1973 without violinist David LaFlamme. As a result of differing opinions regarding drugs, management and a penchant for a heavier sound, David departed to make other music. Bud and Pattie went forth with tunes written by Bud's wife and so it went, with the heavier tight sound...

CONDITION: The grainy textured gatefold cover is VG++ to "EX" (excellent) really the only minor (very minor) thing is a top right lightly bumped corner, small promotional sticker on back which only raises the value...no splits seams, no writing
The vinyl is clean, all shiny, couple of nothing superficial soft hair scuffs, that's all...very clean playback, visual= "EX" (excellent) and plays M- top
