We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. One-and-vanished Krautrock LP "Walpurgis" band had a lot going for them. They boasted Wallenstein's keyboard player and main composer Jurgen Dollase, they fused "Jane"-like heavy rock/psych with West Coast bluesy psychedelic flavors in their `krautrock' textures -- all which makes them quite accessible, and they were signed to the legendary Ohr record label -- and just look at the attractive eye-catching gatefold cover for a debut album!
Widely overlooked, it's a perfectly enjoyable listen-- growing with repeat listens.
The first track, `Disappointment' is a melodic gem, all shimmering Hammond organ and double guitars chiming around warm the keys with acid-rock electric guitar soloing, and popping in and out as well. The singer features a heartfelt sincerity to his English lyrics.
There's a nice rocking snarl to `Hey You Over There' mixing both jangling psych-guitars and whirling flute with heavier ripping bluesy highlights.
The title-track `Queen Of Saba', all heavy rock power-laden charged riffing, molten burning guitar soloing and relentless drumming reminds of early Eloy albums, and elsewhere, the uplifting `Daily' is an embracing reflective quality, where there are flights of humming Hammond organ, dreamy extended acid-guitar soloing passages and dazzling keys, making it one of the highlights of the LP.
The second side's `What Can I Do (To Find Myself?)' lifts into chilled skies with ringing guitars, exotic percussion and eastern vibes. But the centerpiece of the album is the eleven-minute closer `My Last Illusion', full of everything gret; from sudden up-tempo fiery dual-fuitar battles & bursts--a foot-tapping smouldering groove, frequently vocal-free and highlighted by lengthy jamming with twisting acid leads vibrantly springing the long track into a lively experience -- including mantra-like intensities as they wind seductively around murmuring bass and tabla hand drums , all reflecting highs of classic Krautrock gems from the era, and ends beautifully.
Had the whole album been like this, chances are `Queen of Saba' would have now been a costly valued special album.
Overall paying a bit more attention, there's plenty of cool playing and lovely qualities scattered throughout the tracks and overall is an essential German rock release from 1972. Walpurgis' `Queen of Saba' provides as a cool adventurous collectible.
