Up for auction is the sought after Bluesy Hard Rock LP "First Album" by ZZ Top on London Records #PS 584. The dead wax is stamped SAHS1586/SAHS1587 with the initials scribed AL and the date 12/2/70. Visually graded using Goldmine standards, the vinyl is in VG++ condition with beautiful shine and very light surface wear. The jacket is in VG condition with light soiling a small split on the top edge and a 4" split on the bottom edge starting at the opening and heading towards the middle. Comes with the original inner sleeve as pictured. Overall a a very nice copy. Don't miss out! The record will be shipped in a sturdy record mailer with LP outside of the jacket in a protective sleeve to prevent damage during shipping. Low starting bid and no reserve.
ZZ Top's First Album is the debut studio album by the American rock band ZZ Top. It was produced by manager Bill Ham, and was released on January 16, 1971, on London Records. Establishing their attitude and humor, ZZ Top incorporated boogie, hard rock, and Southern rock influences into their sound. Thematically, the album is lively, playful and at times brash, filled with the band's personal experiences and sexual innuendos that became central to the group's image. Seeking inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top began recording the album at Robin Hood Studios in Tyler, Texas. "(Somebody Else Been) Shakin' Your Tree" was the only single released from the album, it failed to appear on the Billboard charts.
