Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. The signatures were obtained by Perry Cox who authored the "Official Price Guide To Beatles Records And Price Guide Memorabilia" (AKA as an avid Alice Cooper Group fan and collector) ...
THIS IS the rare STRAIGHT RECORDS LABEL in thick gatefold from 1971 featuring the Alice Cooper 'thumb/penis' front cover that was quickly withdrawn when sales of the classic album quickly soared into mass popularity and on display at all the big retail outlets in the country! It is the highly collectible very first pressing of the legendary "LOVE IT TO DEATH" was issued on the old Straight Label" before Warner Brothers put it on their major roster label.
Alice Cooper's third album, Love It to Death, can be pinpointed as the release when everything began to come together for the band. Their first couple of albums (Pretties for You and Easy Action) were both largely psychedelic/acid rock affairs and bore little comparison to the band's eventual rip-roaring, teenage-anthem direction. The main reason for the quintet's change was that the eventually legendary producer Bob Ezrin was on board for the first time and helped the Coopers focus their songwriting and sound, while they also perfected their trashy, violent, and theatrical stage show and image. One of the band's most instantly identifiable anthems, "I'm Eighteen," was what made the album a hit, as well as another classic, "Is It My Body." But like Alice Cooper's other albums from the early '70s, it was an incredibly consistent listen from beginning to end. The garage rocker "Caught in a Dream" as well as the ass-kicking "Long Way to Go" and a pair of epics, the Doors-esque, trippy "Black Juju" and the ominous - eerie "Ballad of Dwight Fry" showed that Alice was easily in league with other high-energy Detroit bands of the era (MC5, Stooges).

CONDITION: The cover: The gatefold cover is dark (black) and subject to shelf wear over 40 years past which this has, still serviceable as a display item and has been in the hands of the Alice Cooper group, the signatures are bold silver with Alice's signature in bold blue sharpie ... the actual album is rated VG with shelf wear, no split seams...
The vinyl: on the rare STRAIGHT Records label (both labels are clean), the vinyl: side one is still shiny with some light hard to see hair scuffs, couple of feeler hairlines that will make ticks ...otherwise plays very decent. Side two, VG+ has but a bit of very light and hard to see scuffs, and plays excellent) ...
