Album .........A short time before this album was issued ,David Bowie had told the press he was gay..this statement created a lot of bad publicity for him and the record company..and when the record was issued with him in a dress it seemed to confirm to the public all the negative press hype..as a result the album sold very very few copies, and now has a heafty uk book price of over £300,,,,,,The Album  did get the recognition it deserved a year later when it was issued on a different label,and a new front cover..but this one for sale is the First Press Original With The Highly Collectable !! DRESS COVER !! Textured Cloth Sleeve............................UK MERCURY 6338041.....................First Matrix.........6338041...1Y.1......6338041...2.Y.1...........These matrix numbers are stamped into the vinyl..this confirms it as an original,, there are fakes of this album with hand written matrix numbers, and grey  mercury labels.....................................The album  also has the  correct Cloth Textured Dress Cover Sleeve,..the fakes have  a different  waxy texture ..................... .these Original Dress Cover Sleeves Were Made Without Lamenation ,as a result  the seams and spine have various signs of Ware but are still intact...both front and back panels are fine with no names stickers or splits..the opening edges are fine also with no tears or splits..overall its a very acceptable Rare DRESS COVER Textured Sleeve...........................Both First Issue uk !! BLACK !!
