1970 Sleezy Melodic Hard Psych Rock

Original 1970 first pressing vinyl in thick jacket of long time highly rated Latin psych crew that has gathered a large cult following over the years...sporting one of the great covers of the era....
The record is a real 'grower' with repeat plays, and was pressed in Florida for export to Puerto Rico, origin of this crazed looking crew. A mix of basement fuzzed hardrock and memorable melodics injected by early Santana funk moves, moody church organ and driving fuzz. Disjointed rhythms on many tracks with weird tempo changes within songs. The vocals, mostly are in English. Song-writing is pretty strong, guitar playing is grungey and raw - weird proggy organ flourishes on epic cuts like "Salsa Friquea," beautiful harmonies on "Temura," great deep thought moodiness on "I Can Always Think of You," "Truth and Understanding" is a good jam ... it's all a little overzealous and they overfill the canvas to a degree, but if you're open to it there are a lot of charms lurking around here, and at least several killer trax ... atmosphere is divey and there's a definite sleaze factor at play for those who enjoy that.- (side 1)
