We make every effort to mail all orders out Friday of each week. We also strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.
TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS: We often get requests to hold orders to save on shipping. We are happy to do that. Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and IF YOU REQUEST we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel. To receive continual shipping discounts, we will hold your orders as long as you want, but it is necessary to pay each invoice you receive to stay current. Most importantly, we appreciate your business.

FUNKADELIC
Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow
...USA - Westbound Records - WB 2001
Original 1970 VINYL first pressing in old unipac styled gatefold...in great shape after 38 years and counting, delivering a highly entertaining display of acidy-psych hardrock-funk in a druggy haze of glory...
In 1970, George Clinton of Parliament/Funkadelic fame made a declaration on Funkadelic’s second LP: Free Your Mind, and Your Ass will Follow. From that point, funk music started adopting elements of psychedelic acid rock, creating a bitch’s brew of rhythms which straight, seemed incongruent, but on acid, brought the listener to the edge of nirvana. George Clinton set forth this founding tenet in his ideology of funk in 1970, as a druggy mantra to a swirling psychedelic guitar jam. While the phrase may originally have been intended as a variation on the solipsistic hippie slogan “Turn on/tune in/drop out”
Funkadelic's 2nd album after Maggot Brain, actually is the first LP that features the original Funkadelic (bassist Billy Nelson, guitarist Eddie Hazel and drummer Tiki Fulwood, augmented with Bernie Worrell on keyboards and Lucius Tawl Ross on rhythm guitar).
Hopelessly badly produced, this is one trippy, psychedelic, funk-rocking experience drenched in proto-HEAVY guitar freak-outs, loping bass lines, hard stomping beats and weird, weird sound effects courtesy of George Clinton. The 10+ minute title track itself kicks things off with rumbling industrial noises and space alien sound effects, before a call-and-response chant between deep and chirpy voices brings the concept to full life. As the response voices say, "The kingdom of heaven is within!" The low and dirty groove rumbles along for ten minutes of dark fun, ripping guitars explosives from the master Hazel, with Bernie Worrell turning in a great keyboard solo toward the end — listening to it, one gets the feeling that if "Can" were this naturally funky, they'd end up sounding like this. From there the band makes its way through a total of six songs, ranging from the good to astoundingly great. "Funky Dollar Bill" is the other standout track from the proceedings, with a great, throw-it-down chorus and rhythm and a sharp, cutting lyric that's as good to think about as it is to sing out loud. The closing "Eulogy and Light," meanwhile, predates Prince with its backward masking and somewhat altered version of the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23. At other points, even if the song is a little more straightforward, there's something worthwhile about it, like the random stereo panning and Eddie Hazel's insane guitar soloing on "I Wanna Know If It's Good for You," with more zoned and stoned keyboard work from Worrell to top things off. The amount of drugs going down for these sessions in particular must have been notable, but the end results make it worthy.
