WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS: If you have a question on orders received, please contact us. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. When leaving Feedback, please consider the following: eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5 reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities. SO please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.
TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS: We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping. Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.
As always, thank you for your support!
CLEAN ~~ 1969 GRITTY SWAMP GATOR ROCK CLASSIC ~!~
RARE WHITE LABEL PROMO!
*** BLACK AND WHITE
TONY JOE WHITE
USA - MONUMENT RECORDS - SLP 18114 = White label promo
HIGHLY RATED & sought after, Original 1969 first pressing (clean) VINYL ...
This is a rare WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL...
Clean minty playback vinyl....(see details below song titles)
It's 1969, and Tony Joe White has just unleashed his first Lp ...This swamp gator has a fire burnin' in his belly -- a grooved-out gritty moanin' blues cooker with infectious style and turned-on sound ...so good in fact, it delivers delightfully to the point where the listener is prone to flip it right back on ...
When "Polk Salad Annie" blared from transistor radio speakers in the summer of 1969, the first thought was of Creedence Clearwater Revival, for Tony Joe White's swamp rock bore more than a passing resemblance to the sound John Fogerty whipped up on Bayou Country and Green River. But White was the real thing -- he really was from the bayou country of Louisiana, while Fogerty's bayou country was conjured up in Berkeley, CA. Plus, White had a mellow baritone voice that sounded like it had been dredged up from the bottom of the Delta. Besides "Annie," side one of this album includes several other White originals. The best of these are "Willie and Laura Mae Jones," a song about race relations with an arrangement similar to "Ballad of Billie Joe," and "Soul Francisco," a groovin' tune of funked-out grit, wah wah guitar flashing all over (a big hit in Europe in 1968). 'Willie & Laura Mae Jones' hits a home run with awesome, swirling 'Ode to Billy Joe' arrangement, flute flourishes, clattering drum fills, and an utterly deranged fuzz guitar coda. 'Don't Steal My Love' is a wild, all-chugging, all-frugging wah-wah wig out monster, pure menacing drone, definitive swamp rock, with added tambourine. There's a stack of those kinds of tunes here ....Black And White is the album that followed his own 1969 US top ten hit Polk Salad Annie, the song and this album introduced swamp rock to the nation: funky rhythms, southern fried wah-wah guitar, alligator soul boogie and a voice as deep as his sideburns.
