Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

- "made in England" - VERTIGO Swirl - VO3 847 902- VTY2
Manfred Mann's original material from the early and mid-'60s were British Invasion stars knocking out hit records like "Diddy Wa Diddy" amid their formative R&B styled rock crafts, more early Rolling Stones than Beatles, yet a popular British touring band under the Beatlemania Invasion banner during the early mid 60's rock 'n'roll scene. By '68 The Manfred Mann broke up, Manffed and his organ yearned to stretch musical ideas out with the far more challenging if not interesting persuit as progressive rock pioneers. Taking along Mike Hugg (vocals, keyboards) from the 60's band, the new crew under the "Manfred Mann Chapter Three" monikor signed to then new prog label Vertigo, created two completely different (highly adventurous) albums from their beat-rock sound.
Vertigo with their ears to the ground signed the "MM Chapter 3" band having strange/unique blends of Jazz inflected rock, ala "Canturbury" sound in parts, with mixes not out place with Doctor John's "Gris Gris" era... What is out of place were listeners giving confused "reviews" -the album clearly going over heads. Remains a terrific "grower" with repeat listens - fitting in with Vertigo's roster.

This album is something of a musical paradox for Manfred Mann's Chapter 3. Something unexpected and gorgeous, especially combining with the hauntingly mysterious backing themes-

"Do Wah Diddy Diddy" Manfred Mann is here , but the mesh of rock-jazz and distorted bass is almost nonexistent in make any comparison.
"Snakeskin Garter" is an absolute lock-in groove that expands effortlessly and jams well. The vocals which are a ear-peaking blend on quite a few of these tracks and this one is an absolute testament to that, as does the Yardbirds classic "Mister You're a Better Man Than I. You even get these amazing instrumental pieces that causes the listener to feel dazed and jarred by the wall of sound smacking one in the face. Added are these almost out-of-rhythm winds and percussions that lend highlighted backing to such textures.
"Devil Woman" is a Dr John 'Gris-Gris' groove with haunting back melody and 'vibe' hitting immediately.
"One Way Glass" is a fully textured masterclass in layering.
Lyrically and musically, the Lp is so hard to capture to describe. You can just feel the stress, the frustration Manfred Mann was more than likely feeling at the hectic time in his musicianship. Having had to fully change his approach and restart with a whole new group and sound.
All in all, this album deserves far more ears. Most of the material is solid with progressive and psychedelic elements. Highlighted by "Snakeskin Garter" but there are many other neat tracks as well and encouraged to anyone enjoying progressive music to lend this album your ears and mind
