Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. It certainly is a beautiful day and a pretty unique album at that. There have really been few attempts at merging the classic psychedelic sounds of mid-Sixties San Francisco bands with the pretentious art rock experiments of their British colleagues, and even fewer ones that really worked - this excellent debut, which It's A Beautiful Day were never really able to top, is one of the exceptions. Yes, David LaFlamme and his crew do have a style of their own, but it's nigh near impossible to define in a few words, so many different elements it is comprised of.
Basically the album excells in high vibes hippie ideology, soaring instrumentations and wonderful melodics that capture the mind and senses...real captivating stuff...The epic "White Bird" being the albums tour-de-force is still as thrillingly pleasurable -- even after near 40 years ... There's even a terrific hard psych nugget buried within called "Wasted Union Blues" It's bluesy, maybe even rock'n'rolly in places; it's utterly chaotic in other places; and they manage to get just about the ugliest guitar tone imaginable for the opening riffs, dissonating like mad with the general beauty and smoothness of the picture. It shows these guys weren't afraid to try anything and weren't intending to completely shut themselves off in innocent rosy-cheeked fairy land.
The first two songs on here set the scene - organs, pianos, celestes, and violins a-plenty, great vocals from David LaFlamme and Pattie Santos (duet on the former, call-and-answer mostly on the latter), beautiful, inspiring, memorable melodies, clever dynamics, you name it. First-grade late-Sixties art-rock. Amazing how every song on the album is so carefully thought over. Even a "trifle" like the harpsichord-dominated 'Girl With No Eyes' turns out to possess a beautiful baroque style melody at the end; it's just subtler and shorter than the rest, so it's natural that you don't really notice it until the rest has sunk in. Then, of course, there's 'Bombay Calling' - a remarkable play of wordless lyrics the band deliver in formidable layered passages that the listener wouldn't mind hearing over and over. This is such a "little", friendly, free flowing album, humble even, despite the grandness of the vocal parts and the occasional epic length of a song played wonderously by the band...

The Vinyl: still with glossy surface, near "EX" (excellent) ...maybe just light inner paper sleeve scuffs (top surface) vastly clean ...The lucky winner should expect playback to be in excellent audio levels with no problems ... both 360 Sound labels are CLEAN
