We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

CLEAN vintage vinyl pressing of the famous psychedelic DEAD album that explodes in aural sound-sensations....on the hard to find Warner Bros 7-Arts label...a true psychedelic DEADHEAD classic....
Aoxomoxoa was originally titled Earthquake Country. Many 'Deadheads'' consider this era of the Dead to be the experimental ACID apex of the band's history. It is also the first album with keyboardist Tom Constanten as an official member of the band.
The title of the album is a palindrome created by cover artist Rick Griffen and lyricist Robert Hunter. According to the audio version of the Rock Scully memoir, Living with the Dead (read by the author and former Dead co-manager himself), the title is pronounced "OX-OH-MOX-OH-AH".
The words "GRATEFUL DEAD" on the front of the album, written in large, flowing capital letters, can also be read "WE ATE THE ACID". The artwork around the bottom edge of the album cover depicts several phallic representations...
The Dead always had the reputation of sounding much better live than in the studio. While we can't say that that reputation was completely undeserved, we can say that this album (and its predecessor, Anthem of the Sun) have some real pleasures that you don't have to be high or tripping to enjoy. The most famous track, "China Cat Sunflower," is even catchier on this record than in concert. The other future-Dead-show-standard, "St. Stephen," is a classic, and has some great CSN-ish harmonies that predict the (very successful) immediate future direction of the group. The same can be said for the psyched-ballads "Mountains of the Moon" and "Dupree's Diamond Blues," and for two other songs that *should* have become concert standards--"Doin' That Rag" and the gorgeous "Cosmic Charlie." Others favorite tracks, however, go off in directions to which the Dead never returned--the surrealistic magnum opus "What's Become of the Baby" and the shorter, more poignant "Rosemary," neither of which the band ever performed in concert. Absolutely compelling, these tracks (allegedly made under the influence of laughing gas and with free hands on the mixing console) are not quite like anything else you will ever hear.

CONDITION: The cover: is all around solid; VG++ to "EX" (excellent) having nothing other than a small bit of light shelf wear, minor enough that it won't bother collectors, unless looking for mint.
