We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. More RARE than you think in stunning M- condition...from 1968
Original 1968 first pressing by the Archies ...This is the BEST album by the fictional rock band The Archies that includes the hit "SUGAR SUGAR" (which peaked at #1 in the USA). Neither this LP (nor any of the Archies' LPs) have ever been officially released on compact disc, making original copies of their releases desirable on the collector's market. The band itself was made up of Ron Dante (ex-Cuff Links, "Tracy") as lead vocalist along with female duet vocals provided by Toni Wine supported by various session musicians. Sometimes a 'guilty pleasure', the Archies are still thoroughly enjoyable if you're a fan of 60's jangle poprock.
'60s bubblegum groups were faceless studio concoctions, made up of hired professionals and given nominal group identities after the fact. The Archies made no pretense of being a real band in the first place — their music, including the smash hit "Sugar, Sugar," was "performed" by the animated TV cartoon characters spun off from Archie comics. In reality, of course, they were a studio concoction made up of hired professionals (most notably lead singer Ron Dante), but in this case, they weren't technically faceless.
This 1969 LP included the Archies most famous #1 hit, but lesser known somgs on the album are far from filler and contain the same infwctious sound... total pop-craft invention by the group creators!
The Archies music stood in stark contrast to the heavy psychedelic rock of the era. The Archies weren't the first bubblegum artists but the deep musical talent made them among the best. Beneath the ear-candy, the legendat Jeff Barry and his co-writers drew upon lengthy roots in pop and rock music, allowing them to mix-and-match harmonies with flower-power anthems, and introduce groovy beats to the most whitebread songs. The lyrics were often nonsensical, but Dante sang everyone with conviction, and the melodies will still stick in your head all day!
