WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS: If you have a question on orders received, please contact us. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. When leaving Feedback, please consider the following: eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5 reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities. SO please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.
TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS: We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping. Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.
As always, thank you for your support!
MONO 1968 FIRST PRESSING
COOL JANGLE GUITAR GARAGE COLLECTIBLE
The NIGHTCRAWLERS
Little Black Egg
...USA -KAPP RECORDS - KL 1520 - MONO = PROMO
RARE and sought after = Original 1968 first pressing vinyl of the outstanding jangle tremelo guitar grooves of the NIGHTCRAWLERS ...they had a cool, surprising hit in '67 with LITTLE BLACK EGG and their only album is filled with similar memorable tunes ... includes the original printed inner sleeve...
Many collectors first exposure to the Little Black Egg came via the Nuggets psych/garage punk collection, which caused an invisible third eye to open in the center of their foreheads.
Starting off with a jangly guitar riff, “Little Black Egg” manages to lurch along for three and a half minutes. It’s propelled by a weirdly precise drummer, who sounds like he just learned how to play. Almost as if he hasn’t yet figured out how hard the drums should be hit—sometimes he sneaks out an arm to hit the crash cymbal, but it’s rare. A close listen reveals that the poor guy’s squeaky kick drum pedal is sorely in need of some WD-40. The squeak cuts through the distinctive “sorry but we could only spare one mic for the drums” drum sound. It sounds really dogged, you know? Like he's just making do with what he has, and it ain't easy, so count your blessings.
The singer, on the other hand, sounds like a drawling lobotomy outpatient with nasal congestion to whom someone handed a tambourine before pushing him in front of a microphone and hitting the record button. It just so happens he’s got some very ineffable psychedelic problems that he’s gonna lay on you.
In a blissful, deadpan voice with occasional deadpan harmony, he informs the listener that:
1.) He's found a little black egg with little white specks
2.) People want to look at it, but he doesn’t want them to
3.) The whole situation is really stressing him out
It’s the most perfectly paranoid psych-pop song ever. BUT what the Hell is that little black egg all about!? We're still not sure, but ever since that jangly mess of a song got permanently stuck in our heads, we've found ourselves wanting one too. If that egg’s anything like the tune, then it must be something real good. It was certainly good enough to crack the billboard charts and secure The Nightcrawlers a spot in that pantheon of garage bands (along with the Syndicate of Sound and The 13th Floor Elevators) though with MUCH more to offer than one remarkable song....(check the just as great "Basket Of Flowers" for just one of the many cool travks on this legend)
The Nightcrawlers were a product of the post-Beatles garage band explosion that rocked Florida during the mid-60s. Hailing from Daytona Beach, on the eastern Atlantic coast of the state, the NightCrawlers became one of the first Central Florida bands to have a local regional "hit record". They sparked many a flame in the hearts of central Florida wanna-be rock stars during that era, and Florida became a 'hot-bed' for teen garage bands....
