I am listing records that are all hopefully interesting to audiophiles and lovers of classical music, I could not find a few online so some may be rare. I have done my best to describe them and have spent the last three days preparing the auctions. I have not cleaned any of them so they may need a gentle dust off before playing. I have examined each wearing gloves and under bright light - when I had to I would play and listen to either a whole album or parts with a clean needle. I have included many images of each lot but if you have any questions or requests please just let me know. I will do what I can on my end to answer any questions. I can combine to some extent with shipping but I will want to pack them well. I understand that with records condition is everything so I will do everything I can to assure that they arrive as they are now. I will be able to send them out three to four days after the auctions end. If I can I will send them sooner but most likely it will be 4 days after. They will be sent with tracking and insurance and well packed. Thank you and good luck bidding!

This auction is for two records that belong together - they are original French radio transcriptions for North America and would have two programs on two records - this way the engineer could cue up program without having to turn the record over.I will be listing about 120 separate lots of these programs which are all from the French Broadcasting System In North America. They are all to some degree related to classical music with some programs containing avant-garde and experimental music. I believe these records were from programs dating from 1969 to 1972. I have about 250 records so if any of the record auctions are of interest please check back. These records were made in pairs so there would be two programs on two records. That way the radio station engineer could cue up the programs second half without having to interrupt the show by turning the record over. Many of these recordings are rare and obscure and I believe very few were pressed and even fewer surviving. I could find no reference online to many of them and I have just begun to go through them. Many performances were recording using various conductors and soloists at the Paris L'O.R.T.F. (The Office de Radiodiffusion -Télévision Française (ORTF) was the national agency charged, between 1964 and 1974, with providing public radio and television in France.) These records would be sent to participating radio stations with a paper transcript. Unfortunately I do not have these transcripts so I have had to carefully listen to the introductions to discern what the performances are - as well as referring to the labels. Each program has a short English language introduction before the piece is played and sometimes at the very end - each side of each record is 13 to 15+ minutes in length. The records are in their original simple white sleeve - they were not issued with traditional covers. For the most part the records are sharp and clean with very light signs of handling or wear - played perhaps 4-5 times. I cannot clean records so they may have light dust etc.. - you may have to gently wipe them off or clean them as you see fit. I visually inspect them carefully - and have , when needed listened to them using a clean needle. I believe they are in Very Good to Very Good plus or better condition and when there is a condition or sound issue I try to include that in the description. These records are not new and absolutely perfect. So please ask questions. I would like to have fun listing these because they are so rare but it will also be quite time consuming so I am unsure how long it will take to list all of them. Gabriel Fauré - Pelleas & Melisande (14:55) / Pelléas and Mélisande performed by the ORTF Philarmonic Orchestra / Paul Paray, conductor
Pelléas et Mélisande, Op. 80 is a suite derived from incidental music by Gabriel Fauré for Maurice Maeterlinck's play of the same name. He was the first of four leading composers to write music inspired by Maeterlinck's drama. Debussy, Schoenberg and Sibelius followed in the first decade of the 20th century.
Fauré's music was written for the London production of Maeterlinck's play in 1898. To meet the tight deadline of the production, Fauré reused some earlier music from incomplete works and enlisted the help of his pupil Charles Koechlin, who orchestrated the music. Fauré later constructed a four-movement suite from the original theatre music, orchestrating the concert version himself.

Only one man survives a world holocaust that destroys all other life and he uses his voice alone to refashion a new world - like a 2nd Adam he creates a 2nd vocal Eve and the two create sounds together.
There are moments that reminded me a little of John Corigliano's soundtrack for Altered States. Truly of the time / 1969.

Yves Prin (born 3 June 1933) is a French composer and conductor of classical music.
A French composer and conductor born June 3, 1933 in Sainte-Savine.
Yves Prin studied the piano with Yves Nat and conducting with Louis Fourestier at the Paris Conservatory. Chief assistant of Bruno Maderna at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he was then music director successively of the Orchestre Philharmonique des Pays de la Loire, of the Atelier Lyrique du Rhin and of the Nouvel Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, before taking charge for French Radio of contemporary music and music theatre. He also produced concert series and was artistic director of the Présences festival. As a composer, after an initial dodecaphonic serial period (Au souffle d'une voix, 1968), he sought more poetic and refined atmospheres (Dioscures, 1977). He has composed instrumental music for all kinds of groupings (Le souffle d'Iris, concerto for flute and orchestra, 1992; In Praise of Flight, concerto for piano and orchestra, 2000) though it has been the voice above all that has featured in his output, and this is reflected in his passion
for a specifically lyrical language and a dramaturgical vision of music. Among other works are an opera (Soie, 2009), very many songs (De amor desesperado, 1998; Quatre Haïkaï, 2003) as well as a melodrama, Cantique de l'ombre (2012) and a symphonic poem for soprano and orchestra Archipel de soie (2012).

Tolia Nikiprowetzky (12 or 25 September 1916 - 5 May 1997) was a French composer and musicologist of Russian birth. His compositions include four operas (Les Noces d'Ombre, La Fête et les masques, Le Sourire de l'Autre and La Veuve du Héros); a symphony (Symphony Logos 5); concertos for saxophone, piano, cello, and trumpet; a piece for wind quintet and string orchestra; two large religious works (Numinis Sacra and Ode Funèbre); a few cantatas; several pieces for solo piano; and numerous chamber works among others. Some of his works experimented with serialism, electronic music, and reflected his interest in African music.

Born in Feodosiya, Nikiprowetzky immigrated with his parents to France in 1923 where they settled in Marseilles. He began his musical studies at the Marseilles Conservatory but left there in 1937 to enter the Conservatoire de Paris where he was a student of Simone Plé-Caussade and Louis Laloy. After World War II he pursued further studies privately with René Leibowitz. From 1950-1955 he worked as musical director of the Moroccan Radio, then in Paris for the overseas radio service. He also composed the National anthem of Mauritania. He ran a few nightclubs in Paris where he died in 1997.
