In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Completely preserved 1967 FIRST PRINT in laminated cover -- the BUFFONS first Lp... the European pop-rock group turned a lot of heads with their overt British-styled "swinging London" vocal parts ... the group went on to make several albums, none better than this, their first, but remember, it's pure "pop craft" ...
The unknown /obscure sixties-era Buffoons remain a remarkably undervalued band from the Dutch pop history.
The Buffoons were wonderfully praised in the European sixties - for good reason. Just like their contemporaries The Shoes and The Cats, The Buffoons excelled in polyphonic vocals; clearly influenced by the Beach Boys (of whom they also cover a song on this LP, "You Still Believe In Me" from the legendary PET SOUNDS LP) the Buffoons stand out because of their beautifully layered harmonies and psychedelic arrangements. Reember - the album was recorded in the middle of the "hippie" sensation and the band wear brightly colored flowers in reflecting perfectly, all the way to the spirit of the times.
When they released this first LP " Lookin' Ahead" in 1968 with Imperial Records, their popularity was at its peak. They often toured England and scored four hits in a row: "Tomorrow is Another Day," "It's The End" (both present on this album), "Goodbye My Love" and "Lovely Loretta."
Now over 40 years later, the sound of The Buffoons deliver British-like "toy town" gems such as " My World Fell Down" (originally from the great Sagittarius LP) - and you would swear that the Beach Boys from 1967 actually, very secretly, come to life within this album. The baroque, some solemn orchestrations, the falsetto vocals for the couplets, and then the chorus - thrust to the forefront --- those voices! The sun shines to the era of '67 wuth the listener being immersed in those typical '60's vibes from then: we believe in life and love and we would like to announce that. The beat is completely squeezed out on this album, and it is nice.
They even do a credible version with the little known (but great!) "People World" originally by the German LORDS with beautiful close-harmony vocals; even John Lennon, noticed when he saw the group broadcasted on TV during his bed-inn at the Hilton hotel in 1968. as a point of reference, Lennon then invited the group to come and sing for him (and Yoko).
