PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1966 first pressing in unipack gatefold ...a hard one to find clean like this ... The second Shondells album and the immediate follow up to Hanky Panky, with another timeless shaker in MONY MONY...

The 11 songs that make up the "Mony Mony" album are well-produced '60s poprock, topped by the timeless shaker "Mony Mony" hitting the Top Five. "Mony Mony" is a terrific song with its repetitive hook, an endless powerful party on record. The great gatefold cover showcases the Shondells & Tommy James in colorful, hip suits with beads, scarves, and opulent surroundings. You can hear where the producers found the sound in "Somebody Cares," a second cousin to the Top 20 "Gettin' Together". "Gingerbread Man" contains an adventurous spirit which would open up new avenues when the band wrote, produced, and arranged their next LP, the all important Crimson & Clover psych-edged album. You can feel James and his group learning from Bo Gentry and Ritchie Cordell, but also shedding the confines of outside help. Where "One Two Three and I Fell," "Somebody Cares," and "Get Out Now" have the catchy Tommy James & The Shondells stamp, the three covers of tunes have their R&B moments. The band starts truly staking out on its own with "Some Kind of Love" that might not be "Crystal Blue Persuasion," but the congas and band sound show seeds of work that was just around the corner. As the group got more psychedelic, they found a new niche, a natural extension of the garage rock from their very first release, Hanky Panky, and the pure pop found here. When seen as a whole, the Tommy James catalog shows remarkable diversity, which is why in performance his repertoire has more dynamics than most '60s acts. Mony Mony was an important moment of transition featuring one of the group's most classic hits on an interesting and entertaining album.
