PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. ORIGINAL 1966 MONO first pressing featuring the smash hits "RAIN ON THE ROOF" & "SUMMER IN THE CITY" ...Hard to find a better copy !!!
Contains the scarce "Summer In The City"/"Rain On Th Roof" sticker that was originally only issued on the outer shrink wrap = when most folks tore off the outer shrink wrapper there went the now rare sticker! It's here!
Also contains the original double sided printed Kama Sutra inner sleeve...

In early 1966 the LOVIN' SPOONFUL was on a shockingly strong roll here. Then all of 22-years old, John Sebastian penned all the songs for HUMS. The album opens with "Lovin' You," a perfect confluence of poprock and jugband music, and it closes with their biggest hit, "Summer In the City." In between are the classics "Rain On The Roof" and "Nashville Cats," along with a host of lesser-known, but no less rewarding numbers from the prolific Lovin' Spoonful ...
Peaking album...The first two tracks ("Lovin' You" and "Bes' Friends") are in the updated jugband style that is characteristic of the Spoonful; the former is mainly poprock, while the latter is more of a throwback to 1920s classic blues. These are followed by the Howlin' Wolf-inspired "Voodoo in My Basement", the gorgeous Bakersfield-sound "Darlin' Companion", and the lunatic hillbilly bluegrass takeoff "Henry Thomas". The side then ends with a relatively normal 1966-era poprock groove, "Full Measure". Another poprock classic song, "Rain on the Roof", starts off Side B, followed by "Coconut Grove", a muted, jazzy piece that is a bit reminiscent of David Crosby. Next comes "Nashville Cats", which was another gem from the album, and then "4 Eyes", which for some reason sounds like it could have been an outtake from "Freak Out" by the Mothers. And finally, the timeless all-out impact of "Summer in the City".

The vinyl Also really clean over both sides: M-...shiny and smooth grooves on both sides with NO marks ...the labels are clean too
